It is "the very thing of life"
At Helier Scientific we test water. What we test for and what levels we test to depends on you.
230023 - Dialysis Water Testing
HSL provides a water testing service to hospitals and patients with home dialysis units. The service includes total viable cell counts (TVC) and Endotoxin levels together with periodic measurement of metals present.
The quality of the water is judged against the criteria specified in Clinical Practice guidelines (5.2 and 5.3) Microbiological contaminants in product water used for the preparation of dialysis fluid. UK Renal Association and Renal Transplantation.
Low flux dialysis water should contain TVC count of less than 100 CFU/ml and an endotoxin concentration of less than 0.25 EU/m. High flux dialysis water should contain a total viable count of less than 0.1 CFU/ml and an endotoxin level of less than 0.03 EU/ml.
230030 - Drinking Water Testing
We can carry out analysis of coarse particles and gelatinous material. HSL will test for the presence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and legionella.
WHO (World Health Organization)
More than half a million people are estimated to die
each year from diarrhoea as a result of unsafe drinking-water
