Chromogenic substrates for the assay of Esterase and Lipase (EC 3.1)

Esterases are enzymes that facilitate the hydrolysis of esters into an alcohol and an acid by catalysing the ester bond. Lipases are a subclass of the esterases that can be found in microorganisms, plants or animal tissues. They catalyse esters to get a fatty acid and an alcohol.
